Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez (/ˈnoge̜/ /ze̜f/ [ironic] [harvest; autumn]) is a subtropical Town located in Undǐvsiz Zone, Gduzqüeon Diocese, within the Covenent of Irus.

The name Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez was founded by Dralin Birimo, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez has a yearly average temperature of 30°C (86°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a blistering 35°C (95°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 25°C (77°F). Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez receives an average of 68 cm/y (26 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 10152 m (-9642 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez was founded durring the early 14th century in spring of the year 1344, by Dralin Birimo. The establishment of Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez's construction back out of the project. Dralin Birimo pushed on reguardles, and Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez is buildings are arranged arround a network of premissive gravel streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town sits comfortably behind a palisade wall complete with a timber gatehouse and battlments. The timber-based walls have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

A look around Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scuttling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Maybe it’s all of those things together, or perhaps it's the way these elements combine which makes you worry someone might stab you in a dark ally for your boots. It’s not filthy, or dark, but the smiles seem strained, the locals seem to glare daggers in eachothers backs a little too much, and everyone is armed at all times. You may want to keep an eye on your valuables, and make sure you don’t wind up in any position of power. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez long.

Civic Infrastructure

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez's parks.

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez.

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez's grid is powered by a boiler and turbine based power plant.

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez's old civil lighting system was converted to Galvanic Lamps recently, and expanded to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez's natural decorations nor waterways.

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez's locals despise outsiders. For some “outsiders” may be natives of foreign lands, while others might have a grudge against anyone from outside the community. These locals have an active loathing, and the outsiders allowed to trade or interact with them do so at a heavy disadvantage.

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is inspired by the natural world, characterized by sinuous, sculptural, organic shapes, arches, curving lines, and sensual ornamentation. Common motifs included stylized versions of leaves, flowers, vines, insects, animals, and other natural elements. Decorative elements found on the inside and outside of buildings include intricate mosaic work, curved windows, and decorative trim work. .

Due to the actions of local Kami, autumn is skipped in Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez.

The Human Juju Zombie near Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves ritual combat to channel Summoning energies of tier 3 via guttural bellowing.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century heavy spring rains following an uncharacteristically dry year and a minor earthquake resulted in the collapse of the south east face of Mount Loss. the landslide struck Noge̜ Ze̜f Kez, and devastated the community. 172 people, 393 livestock, and 83 buildings were lost to the calamity. The disaster is recorded in history as Loss's Fall.
